My
first purebred dog was a registered Rough Collie.
Through the years I have had several collies and always knew one
day I would have another one in my life. I just didn’t know
it would be a Border Collie!
Riggs
was born in Oklahoma and came to live with us a few days before
his 4 month old birthday. I had met a full sister to him from
a previous litter who was also catching the eye of many top Border
Collie handlers. A huge thank you to his breeder, Susan Abrams,
for allowing me to own /have this dog!

Riggs
is a strong, stylish dog who is handsome and classically marked.
He has an impeccable work ethic with strong eye and comes
from solid working lines. His sire is a “cow”
dog that works at the University of Oklahoma. His dam is a working
stock dog on Susan’s farm.
Riggs
is everything I was looking for in a ‘stock dog’.
He is very sweet natured to people and dogs and is best friends
with my german shepherd Tikka. On stock he is all business. He
has presence, power, natural ability / trainability, with very
good pace and feel for stock. He is invaluable to me
at home whether it is bringing in the flock from the field, sorting
out sheep for lessons or lambing or just keeping watch on everything.
If
you don’t find Riggs working stock, he will be throwing
anything and everything at you for a game of fetch, or swimming
in the pool.

Riggs
has obtained his ABHA (American Herding Breed Association) Trial
Dog 1 title with a first and third place. The same weekend
he also earned his Ranch Dog 1 title with 2 first place
placements and was the ONLY dog to qualify and finish the course
in his class! Riggs also has one leg toward with ASCA
started title with a first place. Riggs will be getting ready
to trial in the U.S. AKC A & B courses in the summer of 2006.
Hopefully, I will also have him ready to trial in some BC Stock
dog trials (border collie trials) in the upcoming year.
Riggs
has a full brother who is currently has a very high placing in
the Canadian Border Collie Stock Dog trials and is capturing the
attention of my top handlers. His sister, Lace is also getting
ready to trial in the upcoming season.
