Tikka
is out of our male Aiko's first litter. She is from a
litter of 8 pups, 2 of whom are bomb detection dogs.
Another full brother from a repeat breeding is also a bomb detection
dog and worked at the ports in Vancouver all season.
Tikka
is striking in appearance and she has a temperament
to match! She loves to work, play with
her best pal, Riggs (our Border Collie) and loves to cuddle with
anyone who will allow her to! She loves people and other dogs,
traits essential to the German Shepherd breed.
She
earned her first CKC herding title at the age
of 8 months of age and 9 months later earned her first
U.S. herding title. Tikka is worked /trained in boundary/tending
work. Work the German shepherd was originally bred to do. She
is worked regularly on my herd of sheep and we hope to trial in
the higher levels this coming summer.
Through
her sire, Aiko, Tikka goes back to Condor v Hohenstamm,
Fenga v Kirschental and hence Racker v Itztal.
Racker brings in some wonderful bloodlines with great working
abilities. Vefa v Kirschental brings in Bernd
v Lierberg in the 6th generation as well as Blanka v
Mummelsee which is a superb working combination.
Aiko's tail-female-OUT line is pivotal in bringing in great
working ability and drive as well as stable temperament.
The most influential 'key position' in Tikka's
pedigree is held by Amie v Kirschental and Ben v
Thuringian (from her dam Abby's pedigree), thus bringing
forth some outstanding working abilities plus biddability
and trainability.
Tikka's
dam goes back to some great German Shepherd dogs
like Anderl v kleinen Pfahl, Jordan v Kirschental,
Seffe v Busecker Schloss, Zello Blue-Iris, and
Mike v Bungalow, plus the 'B' litter Lierberg
several times (Bernd and Bodo). and Centi vd Ruine
Schonrain. Schonrain brings in the backbone of the
old HGH herding lines. You also see Valet v Busecker
Schloss and Vello zd Sieben Faulen multiple times
in Tikka's pedigree. Valet, Vello, and Bernd/Bodo passed on 'genetic
obedience' and genetic love for working.
See
List of German Shepherds in Tikka's Pedigree at page
bottom. Their names are links to their pedigree in the German
Shepherd pedigree database.
Tikka
is the embodiment of the German Shepherd dogs in her pedigree.
She has outstanding working ability, natural
herding instinct and a nose that never stops. In addition her
structure is very correct! Brains and beauty,
the ultimate combination.
Her
hips and elbows are x-rayed. My vet said her hips were excellent
and she has normal elbows. She is certified through OVC in Canada
for both.
